Afternoon with the Classics planned April 7th in Roscommon

If folks tell you the "classics" never come to Roscommon . . . they're wrong! Mark your calendars for April 7!
Thanks to the Roscommon Metropolitan Recreation Authority and several area sponsors, guitarist Joseph Szydlowski from Chicago and The Northwind Brass, a sextet from Traverse City, will perform "A Lively Afternoon With The Classics" April 7 at 3 p.m. at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church of the North, 149 East Robinson Lake Road, Roscommon.
The special concert will feature works of Brahms, Bach, Handel, Tchaikowsky, Franc, Torroba, Ponce, Bermeja, Villa-Lobos, plus Jerome Kern, Richard Rodgers and more. The Northwind Brass musical selections will be performed against a backdrop of nature photography by award-winning photographer Jeremy Jones of Roscommon.
"We're very fortunate to have these extremely talented performers come to Roscommon," said Carole Kuehn, concert coordinator, who organizes the summer concerts at the gazebo in downtown Roscommon. "This is a great opportunity to see and hear great music by great musicians."
Kuehn said tickets for the concert are $10 each and must be purchased in advance, as seating is limited. Tickets are available at the Roscommon-Higgins Lake Chamber of Commerce, 701 Lake St., Roscommon (989-275-8760) and the CRAF Center, 606 Lake St., Roscommon (989-275-4975).
