DNR eyes sale of Lyon land

Michigan Department of Natural Resources division chiefs have recommended that DNR Director K.L. Cool sell 61.5 acres of state-owned land in Lyon Township at public auction.

The parcel is on Birch Road, one-half mile west of Co. Rd. 202. A minimum bid of $192,050 is recommended.

DNR division chiefs said the land has been determined to be “surplus” to “management needs” of the DNR, “providing limited resource and recreational value.” Mineral rights are recommended to be sold with the land.

Cool could approve the sale Feb. 2.
