Lorraine Wright

Lorraine Wright, 79, Houghton Lake, formerly of Channing, died June 10, 2005, at her home.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 18, at the Chapel in the Pines, 101 W. Jolly Road, Lansing.

Mrs. Wright was born July 23, 1925, in Lansing. She was the daughter of Archie and Lottie Gaukel. She graduate from Lansing Everett High School in 1943. She and Chester “Chet” Wright were united in marriage May 24, 1975.

The two retired in 1980 and moved to Channing in the Upper Peninsula. Her husband preceded her in death in 2001. Also predeceased were her parents and a daughter, July Lee, in 1949.

Mrs. Wright loved her family and working in the woods around her home. She also enjoyed cooking and baking, working crossword puzzles, and trips to the casino. She was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan.

Surviving are her son, Randy Haga of Lansing; three daughters, Patsy Jo Williams of Grand Ledge, Debra and her husband Bruce Hebener of St. Johns, and Karen Haga of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; three grandsons; three great-granddaughters, and one great-grandson. She also leaves three step-daughters, Linda Mauk of Kalamazoo, Martha and her husband Denny Owen and Jacqueline and her husband Doug Noble of Lawton; eight step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; sister, Peg and her husband Dennis Stegall of Houghton Lake; brother, Jack and his wife Joan Gaukel of Lansing; and special friend, George Schroeder of Houghton Lake.
