83RD DISTRICT COURT

Judge Daniel Sutton

Judge Daniel L. Sutton recently arraigned the following in 83rd District Court, Roscommon:

Kerry M. Korhonen, 46, Houghton Lake, waived preliminary examination, was bound over to 34th Circuit Court and pleaded guilty before Sutton, who was sitting by assignment as Circuit Court judge, to possession of analogues, first offense (amended from second offense). He will be sentenced in Circuit Court. The date of offense was Feb. 7; Michigan State Police, Houghton Lake, made the arrest. Bond was set at $3,000.

LeAnn M. Young, 39, Prudenville, waived preliminary examination, was bound over to Circuit Court and pleaded guilty before Sutton, sitting by assignment as Circuit Court judge, to attempted assault of a prison employee (amended from assault of a prison employee). She will be sentenced in Circuit Court. The sheriff's department made the March 29 arrest. Bond was set at $5,000.

Johnny O. Carnahan, 19, Prudenville, waived preliminary examination and was bound over on a charge of possession of less than 25 grams of morphine and possession of analogues. The sheriff's department made the March 20 arrest. Bond was set at $5,000.

Dale A. Reed II, 52, Higgins Lake, waived preliminary examination and was bound over on a charge of driving while intoxicated, third offense. The date of offense was March 29; Gerrish Township Police made the arrest. Bond was set at $5,000.

The following demanded preliminary examination within 14 days on charges filed against them:

James L. Benn, 36, Houghton Lake, possession of less than 50 grams of cocaine, second offense. The date of offense was Jan. 18; Strike Team Investigative Narcotics Groups officers made the arrest. Bond was set at $20,000.

Robert V. Childs, 22, Houghton Lake, domestic violence, third offense, furnishing contraband to a prisoner and possession of marijuana, second offense. The dates of offense were March 31 and April 10; the sheriff's department made the arrests. Bond was set at $15,000.

Barry L. Dowell, 58, St. Helen, delivery/manufacture of marijuana. The date of offense was Jan. 16; State Police, Houghton Lake, made the arrest. Bond was set at $2,500.

Ronald D. Frazier, 37, Houghton Lake, driving while intoxicated, third offense. The sheriff's department made the April 12 arrest. Bond was set at $20,000.

Cody A. Koch, 29, Houghton Lake, attempted breaking and entering. State Police, Houghton Lake, made the April 13 arrest. Bond was set at $10,000.

Stephanie L. McFatridge, 35, Virginia Beach, VA, three counts of forgery and three counts of uttering publishing. The dates of offense were July 26-27, 2006, and July 27, 2002; Denton Township Police made the arrest. Bond was set at $60,000.

Dale D. Morris, 33, Prudenville, failure to register as a sex offender. The sheriff's department made the March 7 arrest. Bond was set at $2,000.

Carrie M. Parkinson, 31, Roscommon, resisting and obstructing police. The sheriff's department made the March 24 arrest. Bond was set at $2,000.

The following pleaded guilty to impaired driving and were sentenced:

Michelle L. Palmer, 44, Merritt, 37 days in jail with credit for three days, $1,370 in fines, costs or restitution, and 12 months probation; Norman D. Pratt, 23, Grayling, 60 days in jail, $860, and six months probation (must pay $530 or serve 60 days in jail); Jenny J. Van- Duinen, 29, Houghton Lake, $800 in fines, costs or restitution; and Joseph J. Whyte, 33, Roscommon, five days in jail with credit for one day, $1,020 in fines, costs or restitution, and 12 months probation.

Their convictions were reported to the Secretary of State.

The following pleaded guilty to charges filed against them and were sentenced:

Daniel P. Marcoux, 29, Houghton Lake, possession of marijuana: 60 days in jail and $500 in fines, costs or restitution. The defendant must pay $410 in fines and costs or serve an additional 60 days in jail. He will still owe state fees of $90.

Gavin R. Beach, 23, Roscommon, larceny less than $200: $650 in fines, costs or restitution, and six months probation.

Dennis M. Nordstrom, 54, St. Helen, no mechanical contractor's license: $770 in fines, costs or restitution, and 12 months probation.
