Rotary event goes 'Wild West' in annual auction Saturday

Final preparations for the Rotary Club of Houghton Lake's eighth annual Community Service Silent Auction this Saturday are underway.

Nearly 350 items worth $40,000 have been donated by 171 businesses and individuals for the event, to be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Quality Inn of Houghotn Lake. The event is the Rotary Club's largest fund-raiser, with proceeds funding numerous Rotary community projects and supported organizations.

This year's theme is "The Wild West." Tickets are $25 per person and are available from any Rotarian. An auction ticket provides the bidder number and also enrolls the purchaser into a $2,000 raffle that will be drawn at the end of the evening.

For information or to purchase tickets, contact any Houghton Lake Rotarian or Auction Chairman Bill Oliver at 366-7245.
