Bucks win one, lose one

The Lady Bucks varsity softball team played well in game one of their double header at Farwell May 15, winning narrowly 10-9. Unfortunately, the same Bucks team seemingly didn't show up in game two, and Farwell routed them by a score of 21-1.

Roscommon 10, Farwell 9

Roscommon scored three runs in each of the fourth, fifth and seventh innings, tallying the majority of their runs late in the game.

"We brought the bats out in force tonight in game one," said Coach Trish Baerlocher.

Erica Vanwormer led the Bucks in hitting, tallying two triples and a single. Arielle Rucinski, Shelby Alexander and Jenna Moreau each chipped in with two hits apiece.

Katie Baerlocher picked up the win for the Bucks, their second win in Jack Pine Conference play.

Farwell 21, Roscommon 1

Farwell had innings of six, seven and eight runs scored in the game, holding Roscommon scoreless after the first inning.

"We played through the rain in this one, and it was a tough one all around," said Trish Baerlocher.

Rucinski had two hits to lead the Bucks.

"We won't let this slow us down. Overall we're starting to play pretty well," said Baerlocher.

Roscommon fell to 2-10 in JPC play and 5-11 overall.
