Former coach to host cage clinic

Our Lady of the Lake School is hosting a girls' basketball clinic for fifth through eighth graders on June 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event, sponsored by Travel Land RV Center, features former Lansing Catholic High School varsity girls' coach Dan Doneth. Doneth led Lansing Catholic to two Class B Final Fours during his tenure with the school and has won four AAU State Championships.

Also assisting at the clinic will be Williamston High School head coach Pete Cool, a former assistant of Doneth, and Andrea Doneth, a current St. Bonaventure's sophomore who was a three-time first-team Class B All-State selection at Lansing Catholic High School.

The clinic is free of charge. Organizers request only a donation of a non-perishable food good for the community food pantry. Lunch is provided and participants are required to wear appropriate athletic shoes. Athletes are asked to arrive 20 to 30 minutes early at the school gymnasium behind the church to sign in and warm up.

Contact Becky Machtel at 390-1414 or Our Lady of the Lake at 366-5592 to register by May 23.
