Since 1996, 802 classmates, 23 faculty members and three administrators have attended the reunions. More ... Three Rotary Strive scholarships were awarded to recent Houghton Lake High School graduates at the Rotary Club of Houghton Lake's June 25 meeting. A $250 scholarship was awarded to Allissa Tremper, a $500 scholarship to Melissa Ketchpaw and a $750 scholarship to Kyl Gill. STRIVE scholarships are awarded for academic improvement and performance during the school year. Kirtland Community College also awarded an additional $250 to each of the three scholarship recipients. A total of 11 family members of the students, including parents, grandparents, sisters, aunts and cousins, attended the Rotary lunch meeting to see the awards presented. Nine HLHS students successfully completed the Strive program this year. Seven of the students were on the honor roll at least one of the four marking periods and two of those students, Kyl Gill and Brittany Millard, made the honor roll all four marking periods.
