83RD DISTRICT COURT

Judge Daniel Sutton

Six people demanded preliminary examination in 83rd District Court, Roscommon, this week on drug charges.

Teddy T. Russell, 20, Mt. Clemens, is charged by the Strike Team Investigative Narcotics Group with delivery or manufacture of less than 50 grams of cocaine. Sarah I. Derrick, 26, Gladwin, is accused by STING of aiding and abetting delivery or manufacture of less than 50 grams of cocaine. Both are charged with June 30 offenses. Judge Daniel L. Sutton set bond at $50,000.

Jeffrey J. Cannell, 34, Merritt, is accused by the Roscommon County Sheriff's Department of a June 6 offense of delivery or manufacture of less than 50 grams of cocaine. His bond is $20,000.

Brandon M. Schroder, 21, Prudenville, is charged by STING with a Feb. 15 offense of delivery or manufacture of marijuana. Sutton set bond at $5,000.

Christopher R. Godfrey, 45, Roscommon, is accused by the sheriff's department of a June 22, 2006, crime of delivery or manufacture of marijuana. His bond is $2,500.

Scott A. Albaugh, 39, Bay City, is charged by Richfield Township Police with a June 27 crime of possession of less than 25 grams of cocaine, second offense. Sutton set bond at $1,000.

Two defendants waived preliminary examination on drug charges and were bound over to 34th Circuit Court, where they entered guilty pleas before Sutton, who was sitting by assignment as a Circuit Judge. They will be sentenced later by the Circuit Judge.

Aaron L. Laverty, 22, Houghton Lake, is accused by the sheriff's department of a March 14 of offense delivery or manufacture of marijuana, second offense. His bond is $4,000.

Alton C. Colulter, 18, St. Helen, is charged by Gerrish Township Police with an April 27 crime of possession of hydrocodone. Sutton set bond at $2,500.

Others who demanded preliminary examination were:

Heather M. Fisher, 26, St. Helen, accused by the sheriff's department of a June 26 offense of second degree home invasion. Her bond is $50,000.

Phillip M. Bebow, 18, Prudenville, charged by State Police with a May 1 crime of malicious destruction of property under $20,000. Sutton set bond at $5,000.

Frank R. Watters, 59, Clio, accused by the sheriff's department of a March 3, 1998, offense of failure to pay child support. His bond is $4,000.

Bound over to Circuit Court after waiving preliminary examination was Ronald D. Frazier, 37, Houghton Lake, charged by the sheriff's department with an April 12 offense of driving while under the influence of liquor, third offense. Sutton set bond at $20,000.

The following pleaded guilty to impaired driving and were sentenced (including having their convictions reported to the Secretary of State):

Steven B. Kann Jr., 24, Roscommon, $960 in fines, costs or restitution, and six months probation; Timothy H. Kettler, 61, Roscommon, $800; Joseph M. Lowe, 41, Prudenville, five days in jail with credit for one day, and 12 months probation; Sandra J. Pothoof, 43, Houghton Lake, $860 and six months probation; William J. Robb, 19, Houghton Lake, $960 and six months probation; Kerry L. Rose, 49, Houghton Lake, $860 and six months probation; Matthew S. Tillman, 50, Houghton Lake, five days in jail with credit for one day, $1,120 and 12 months probation; and Justin L. McDaniel, 22, Dewitt, $860 and six months probation.

The following were sentenced after pleading guilty to charges filed against them:

Ellen M. Morgan, 36, Houghton Lake, possession of marijuana and impaired driving: $1,365 in fines, costs or restitution, 12 months probation, and the conviction was reported to the Secretary of State.

Barry L. Dowell, 58, St. Helen, possession of marijuana: $615, 12 months probation and 30 days license restriction.

Gregory A. Harris, 23, Flint, assault and battery: 93 days in jail with credit for 91 days.

Casandra L. Overmyer, 18, Houghton Lake, third degree retail fraud: 30 days in jail, $410 and six months probation. She was also sentenced for receiving and concealing stolen property under $200: 40 days in jail and $505.

Patrick J. Fisher, 30, Roscommon, consuming alcohol on the highway: $150.
