School burglary suspects face additional charges

Four Houghton Lake men charged in connection with burglaries at two schools demanded preliminary examination on additional charges in 83rd District Court, Roscommon, June 27.

George D. Asay, 17, is charged with four courts of breaking and entering and one of second degree home invasion. The offenses allegedly occurred on June 14, 15, 16 and 18. Judge Daniel L. Sutton set bond at $125,000.

Derek C. Antcliff, 17, and Michael J. Shearer, 19, each are charged with three counts of breaking and entering. Antcliff is charged with June 14 and 18 offenses. Shearer is accused of a June 18 crime. Bond for each is $75,000.

Nathaniel T. Shearer, 18, is charged with two counts of breaking and entering. The offenses allegedly occurred June 15 and 27. Sutton set bond at $50,000.

State Police filed the charges.

The four already were awaiting preliminary examinations in connection with burglaries at Houghton Lake High and Middle Schools. Three of the suspects also were allegedly involved in a break-in at the Snow Bowl Restaurant.
