An afternoon of music and other activities to benefit Tom Chevalier of Houghton Lake is planned Aug. 12, at the Long Branch Saloon from 2 to 8 p.m. Chevalier recently underwent quadruple bypass surgery and is currently recovering at home.

Chevalier is a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam war and works as a self-employed psychologist helping Vietnam veterans as well as Iraqi veterans. He has worked to help establish support groups for the veterans in many surrounding counties.
