WORKING TOGETHER

The residents of Church Street, Lake Township- by working together- recently paved the street, which had been a gravel road for more than 50 years. (Right): Mike Maloney (left) and Thad Davis received consensus from all 21 homeowners, as well as funding for the project, which did not require a special tax assessment. (Above) Employees of Hodgins Asphalt Paving of West Branch lay the asphalt. Church Street was created in 1956 by Hal and Lucille Church as part of the Golden Beach waterfront subdivision, located along Houghton Lake's west shore.
