Deputies arrest three, confiscate 'Works' bombs
Three men were arrested and two "Works" bombs were confiscated after a break-in at a Denton Township residence Aug. 4.
Roscommon County Sheriff's deputies arrested Scott R. Bethuy, 23, Houghton Lake, and Gene W. Page Jr., 20, Prudenville, near the scene of the break-in. Christopher A. Lawson, 21, Wyandotte, was arrested after he was found hiding under a pontoon boat. All three demanded preliminary examination in 83rd District Court, Roscommon, Monday on charges of second degree home invasion and possession of a bomb or explosive with unlawful intent. Judge Daniel L. Sutton set bond for each at $50,000.
Deputies said one homemade bomb was found in the living room of the burglarized home and another in a pocket in the Wyandotte resident's clothing. He told deputies he planned to set the bomb off in the lake.
The case remains under investigation.
