83RD DISTRICT COURT

Judge Daniel Sutton

Judge Daniel L. Sutton recently arraigned the following in 83rd District Court, where they waived preliminary examination and were bound over to Circuit Court, where they pleaded guilty before Judge Sutton (sitting by assignment as Circuit Court judge) to charges filed against them:

Joseph R. Baker, 53, Houghton Lake, delivery/manufacture of marijuana and delivery/manufacture of morphine. Strike Team Investigative Narcotics Group officers made the arrest; dates of offense were May 7 and July 31. Bond was set at $27,500.

Jacklyn E. Edwards, 18, St. Helen, possession of less than 25 grams of methadone. The Roscommon County Sheriff's Department made the arrest. Bond was set at $2,000.

Christopher A.J. Lawson, 23, Wyandotte, second degree home invasion; a charge of possession of a bomb with unlawful intent was dismissed. The sheriff's department made the Aug. 4 arrest. Bond was set at $50,000.

Alice R. McDaniels, 45, Roscommon, an amended count of aiding and abetting delivery/manufacture of methylphenidate; dismissed was a charge of delivery/manufacture of dihydrocodeinone. STING officers made the April 9 arrest. Bond was set at $2,500.

Michael J. McDaniel, 47, Roscommon, delivery/manufacture of clorazepam and delivery/manufacture of methadone; dismissed were delivery/manufacture of methylphenidate and delivery/manufacture of dihydrocodeinone. STING officers made the arrest; date of offense was April 23. Bond was set at $5,000.

Gene W. Page Jr., 20, Prudenville, amended charge of attempted second degree home invasion; dismissed was a charge of possession of a bomb/explosive with unlawful intent. The sheriff's department made the Aug. 4 arrest. Bond was set at $50,000.

They will be sentenced in Circuit Court.

The following demanded preliminary examination within 14 days:

Timothy J. Marshall, 26, Houghton Lake, unlawfully driving away an automobile. The sheriff's department made the arrest; date of offense was April 23. Bond was set at $10,000.

David S. Miller, 18, Roscommon, carrying a concealed weapon. The sheriff's department made the Aug. 15 arrest. Bond was set at $3,000.

Danny W. Morrison, 36, Roscommon, driving while intoxicated, third offense. The sheriff's department made the Aug. 14 arrest. Bond was set at $100,000.

Linda S. Raymo, 52, Traverse City, writing a nonsufficient-funds check over $500. State Police, Houghton Lake, made the arrest; date of offense was Dec. 23, 2002. Bond was set at $5,000.

Frederick A. Wood Jr., 37, Rhodes, driving while intoxicated, third offense. The sheriff's department made the Aug. 14 arrest. Bond was set at $10,000.

Bound over to Circuit Court after waiving preliminary examination were:

Scott R. Bethuy, 23, Prudenville, second degree home invasion and possession of a bomb with unlawful intent. The sheriff's department made the Aug. 4 arrest. Bond was set at $50,000.

Mary J. Detmer, 28, Houghton Lake, possession of less than 25 grams of cocaine. The sheriff's department made the arrest; date of offense was June 6. Bond was set at $2,500.

Raymond M. Millard, 54, Roscommon, delivery/manufacture of marijuana and possession of dihydrocodeinone. STING officers made the May 29 arrest. Bond was set at $2,500.

The following pleaded guilty to impaired driving and were sentenced (including having their convictions reported to the Secretary of State):

Shawn A. Thomas, 32, Roscommon, $1,010 in fines, costs or restitution, and six months probation; Victoria L. Blanchard, 38, Prudenville, five days in jail with credit for one day, $920 and 24 months probation; Justin D. Fisk, 20, Houghton Lake, five days in jail with credit for one day, $1,020 and 12 months probation; Stephen P. Pavloff, 18, St. Helen, $860 and six months probation; Matthew R. Jackson, 23, Houghton Lake, three days in jail, $860 and six months probation; and Derek E. Peivandi, 24, Flint, $800.

The following were sentenced after pleading guilty to charges filed against them:

Jeffrey L. Buntt, 31, Roscommon, driving while intoxicated: Five days in jail with credit for one day, $1,370 in fines, costs or restitution, 12 months probation, and the conviction was reported to the Secretary of State.

Robert J. Garrod, 39, Houghton Lake, driving with a suspended license, second degree: Five days in jail with credit for one day, $550, and the conviction was reported to the Secretary of State.

Kimberly L. Tavalieri, 49, Prudenville, trespassing: 15 days in jail and $269.99.

Michael E. Johnson, 25, Higgins Lake, disorderly/jostling: 30 days in jail with credit for 22 days.

Jason W. Kohler, 22, Prudenville, possession of marijuana: Five days in jail, $765, 12 months probation and 60 days license suspension.

Michael S. Adams, 21, Roscommon, malicious destruction of property: $605 and 72 months probation.

Bo E. Savage, 20, Houghton Lake Heights, failure to comply with sex offender registry act: $345.

Christopher R. Godfrey, 46, Roscommon, possession of marijuana: $765, 12 months probation and 30 days license suspension.

April M. Holder, 24, Merritt, attempted resisting and obstructing police: $550.

Kyle C. Knight, 22, Houghton Lake Heights, possession of marijuana: 23 days in jail with credit for 23 days, $765, 12 months probation and 60 days license suspension.

Robert L. Reed, 31, Grayling, disorderly/obscene conduct: $250.

Mark C. Frei, 58, Hastings, writing a nonsufficient-funds check over $50: $955.46.

Kelly S. Gyger, 31, Lakeview, disorderly/obscene conduct: $250.

Jay J. Burke, 47, Saginaw, use of marijuana and impaired driving: 30 days in jail with credit for one day (on each count), $1,365, 12 months probation and 30 days license suspension.
