Baseball All-Star coaches' work, time, effort appreciated

We just want everyone to know how grateful we and our sons are for the extended baseball season they were allowed to play this year. At the end of the regular season one of the coaches, Tom Blanchard, decided it would be nice for boys who were really interested to have an opportunity to play more. Therefore, Mr. Blanchard arranged an All-Star Team.

Players ages 7-9 were allowed to try out for the team and 12 players were selected based on skill level. These players practiced three times a week for two weeks and then played games in Midland and Kalkaska. The skills they improved upon and the additional skills they were taught were important. However, the fun they had was really wonderful.

Not only did Mr. Blanchard donate his time to arrange all this, but he, along with fellow coaches Jon Cohee and Bill Brandell, donated their time at all the practices and games. We are truly a lucky community to have people willing to donate their time and energies so our youth can have such a positive experience.

Thank you, Mr. Blanchard, Mr. Cohee and Mr. Brandel. We appreciate you.

On behalf of the All-Star Team parents. s/Mick Stiles Prudenville
