Fall injures would-be hunter
A 48-year-old Canton man was impaled in the groin area when he fell onto a branch in a tree he was climbing in Backus Township Sept. 15.
The man told Roscommon County Sheriff's deputies he had climbed the tree for a better view while he was looking for a hunting spot. He said his son helped free him from the branch. He was taken to West Branch Regional Medical Center for treatment.
