Markey Township Supervisor Carl Geiger gingerly transports part of a swingset to a storage area during an improvement project in the township's Truman Gardner Park last week. Township Clerk Esther Rons said improvements at the park include thinning and removal of some trees, grass planting, demolition of the old restroom building, rearrangement of existing playground equipment and the addition of new playground equipment for toddlers. Funding for the project came from donations, the township's general fund and grants from the Roscommon County Community Foundation.
