Blood drive garners 54 units

The Roscommon blood drive held at the First Congregational Church Oct. 22 resulted in 63 donors attempting to donate blood. A total of 54 units was accepted, the goal being 57.

First-time donors were Kelly Fortino, Carolyn Hasty, Anna Marie Huntley, Carmen Cook, Donald Yarrington, Laura Love and Nathan Oppy.

Many people received pins for gallon achievements: 12-gallon pins went to Suzanne Fries and Donald Dixon; an 11-gallon pin went to Kenneth McCanham; a seven-gallon pin went to Marsha Dreslinski; six-gallon pins went to Tom Kozlowski and Earl Lafave; a four-gallon pin went to Troy B. Daniel; three-gallon pins went to Nancie Brooks and Jeremy Lundy; a two-gallon pin went to Cathy Jasper; and one-gallon pins went to Sheila Tennant and Joseph VanOstenbridge.

Coordinator Arlene Joiner thanked all the volunteers for donating blood, as well as the volunteers who gave of their time to make the drive possible.
