JV Bucks remain perfect in JPC

The Roscommon junior varsity girls basketball team will head into the Christmas break with an undefeated Jack Pine Conference record after topping Meridian 32-26 Dec. 19. The host Bucks got out to a 26-lead in the first half before picking up the win.

"Tonight we wanted to come out and set the tone and pace early and that gave us a 26-2 halftime lead," Coach Phil Weiler said. "In the second half, we worked on things we needed to improve on."

He said he was proud of his squad's effort and focus in their last game before break.

Olivia Meadows had nine points while Laura Walker added seven and Caitlyn Waller had six.

"Meadows and Walker both had nice games at both ends of the court," Weiler said.
