Accidents on M-55 send two drivers to hospital

A Prudenville woman and an infant passenger were injured in a traffic accident Dec. 26 when the vehicle the woman was driving collided with an SUV.

Laura M. Miller, 22, was headed south on Loxley Road in Roscommon Township when, according to a Roscommon County Sheriff's report, she disregarded the flashing red light at M-55 and her vehicle collided with a Chevy Tahoe, driven by Amy L. Clark, 41, Lansing.

Miller was transported to Grayling Mercy Hospital. Her passenger, Emily A. Pendrys, four months, was transported by Denton Township EMS.

In an accident Dec. 28, a Houghton Lake family's vehicle collided with another operated by a teenage driver.

Matthew D. Haggart, 36, was headed west on M-55 in Roscommon Township and was turning left onto Ontario Street when his vehicle collided with that of Kayla B. Hires, 17, Houghton Lake. Hires was treated by Houghton Lake Ambulance personnel, but was not transported to a hospital.

Neither Haggart nor any of his six passengers was injured.
