Proud Bobcats

Not many Houghton Lake Bobcat varsity sports teams have bragging rights to the state playoffs, but the Bobcat Competitive Cheer team can join those few that do!

The Bobcat girls scored 701.22 points for the three competitive rounds and earned 6th place out of 10 schools competing. The competition at the state level is some of the fiercest any team will face so the demands are also the greatest. The Bobcat girls can be proud of their accomplishments this season and with their finish at the state level.

The team had a lot of local support not only at the pep rally before they left for the state meet in Grand Rapids Friday, but also Saturday during the competition at the Deltaplex.

Coach Celeste Kubiak recognized the team's support by the Bobcat Boosters Club, which has funded sports the past three years at Houghton Lake. If any of the Bobcat Boosters ever wondered if their efforts were appreciated, all they would have to do is ask one of the competitive cheer team members, or look at the smiles on their faces knowing they performed at the highest level in high school sports.

We join with the community in expressing our pride in our Bobcats, all of them. We recognize their dedication and hard work, and the work of the Bobcat Boosters who have helped to make it possible.

Go Bobcats!
