Former Houghton Lake resident and business owner Pearl E. Preuett, 86, of Traverse City, died May 14, 2008, at Bortz Health Care with her husband of 67 years, James, at her side. Born Sept. 22, 1921 in Detroit, she was the daughter of Clyde and Mae (Lamb) Sayers. She was raised in Detroit, and while attending high school she met James E. Preuett and they were married in 1940.
