A group of strong players from last year's junior varsity team, an experienced line and a year of practice with the Wing-T offense should result in a stronger Bobcat varsity football team this season according to Coach Floyd Carter. Winning the Jack Pine Conference championship last season was a great accomplishment for the Roscommon High School varsity volleyball team, but Coach Heather Compton said the Bucks are feeling the pressure to come up with a repeat performance. A week after losing 11-6 to Limberlost, Booner's made up for the loss with a 30-12 victory Monday night that gave them the Houghton Lake Men's Slopitch Softball League championship. After Limberlost's win in the final game of the season, both teams ended the regular season at 14-2, making the playoff game necessary. More ... Houghton Lake Varsity cheerleader Lisa Wegner assists a young cheer camper Monday at the Bobcat Cheerleading Youth Camp. The three-day clinic served as a fund-raiser for the Bobcat Boosters.
