Blood drive gets off to slow start, exceeds goal

The Aug. 25 blood drive hosted by the American Red Cross at First Congregational Church may have had some delays, but many of the donors stayed until technical difficulties were corrected.

There were 60 registered donors, and 56 units were accepted (four over the goal).

First-time donors were: Lyle Holder, Kathy Hofmeister, Megan Lundy, Brittany Howe, David Callahan and Gregory Singelyn.

Those receiving pins for gallon achievements were: Lawrence Dashner, 17 gallons; Mark Montei, 12 gallons; Don Croft, four gallons; and Donna Royce, one gallon.
