Kirtland to offer community classes
      Area residents will have a chance to study or brush up on a variety of subjects this fall, with Kirtland Community College again set to offer onenight community education classes for just $10 per course.

Registration deadline looms for October ACT test
      The next ACT test will be administered on Oct. 25. Students who wish to take the college admission and placement exam must register by September 19 - the deadline for having the registration postmarked. Late registrations, with an additional fee, will be accepted until the final postmark deadline of Oct. 3. Students can register online at www.actstudent.

Art Center lists class schedule
      The Roscommon Art Center has announced its fall and winter art class schedule. Adult classes - for those over 16, or younger if prior art classes or excellent artistic talent: Beginning water color painting, which includes drawing, using water colors, Fridays 1:30 to 4 p.m.

EMT basic class slated to begin Oct. 13
      Denton Township EMS Education will host an EMT Basic course beginning Oct. 13. The cost is $850. Set to take place Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 to 10 p.m., as well as three Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the class will last until March 18, 2009. Sessions will be held downstairs at the Denton Township EMS facility. Orientation is Oct. 6 at 7 p.m.
