Judith Ann Ebert

Judith Ann Ebert, 70, Roscommon, died Oct. 5, 2008, at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso.

A service is planned for Monday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church of the North. The Rev. Brad Lewis and the Rev. Clifford J. Furness will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the service starts. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Born in Booneville, IN on Feb. 28, 1938, she was the daughter of Louis James and Alma Elaine (Powers) Lanham. She was married to James Ernest Ebert, who survives, on June 22, 1957 in San Diego, CA. The couple moved to Roscommon 10 years ago after living in Fenton for 25 years.

A homemaker and Weight Watchers employee, Mrs. Ebert was strong in her faith as a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church where she spent several years as narrator for the women of the Bible, was a member of the women's group and was active with the young children, who were extremely important to her. She also enjoyed reading, sewing and bird watching.

She is survived by her husband, James; children, Greg (Peggy) Ebert of Minneapolis, Jerri (Ed) Hudson of Owosso, Doreen (Kevin) Mignault of Swartz Creek, Jeff (Ann) Ebert of Petoskey and Patti Ward of Flint; eight grandchildren, Chris, Andrew and Jessica Ward, Courtney, Aaron and Katie Hudson, and Mathew and Timothy Mignault; and a sister, Linda Gayle Tortorella of Morris Plaines, NJ. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lloyde Raymond Lanham.

Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon, handled arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Good Shepherd Church, the American Cancer Society or the Gerrish- Higgins School District Public Library.
