Smashing Pumpkins
      An interest in medieval siege weapons and a desire to "chuck pumpkins" came together at the Roscommon County Fire Training Grounds Saturday as two Roscommon High School students completed their senior project and helped some of their friends and neighbors solve the age-old problem of what to do with their jack-o'-lanterns after Halloween.

KCC board approves changes to student residency policy
      Potential students considering moving closer to Kirtland Community College's main campus near Roscommon won't have to wait long to benefit from less expensive in-district tuition rates. The KCC Board of Trustees recently unanimously approved a policy change eliminating what had been a five-month waiting period before new residents could qualify for in-district rates.

The vaccine
      Merck markets its Gardasil vaccine as "the only vaccine that may help guard you against diseases caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) Types 16 and 18, which cause 70% of cervical cancer cases, and HPV Types 6 and 11, which cause 90% of genital warts cases.
