(Courtesy photo) The Richfield Township Public Safety Department has fulfilled the requirements through the Michigan Department of Community Health to become an approved facility for emergency medical technician courses.

The department will offer yearly Emergency Medical Technician courses that will be instructed by Sgt. Cindy Finkbeiner.

"It will be a huge benefit to the citizens to have more [EMT's} trained in the area, to assure better coverage of our ambulance and make our township one step closer to going Advanced Life Support," Finkbeiner said. "We are pleased to announce that our first course is scheduled to begin Nov. 24, 2008. Any individual interested in taking the course, please call the Richfield Township Department of Public Safety administration office at 389-4071 prior to this date."
