The first heavy snowfall of the season Monday kept emergency personnel - and plenty of tow trucks and plow trucks - in Roscommon County busy. As six inches of snow fell down, 911 calls racked up. Roscommon County Central Dispatch received 41 calls on vehicles in the ditch, four calls on personal injury accidents and 14 calls on property damage accidents. More...

St. Helen's Santa Parade and Tree Lighting will take place Nov. 28. The "Lighted Santa Parade" will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the St. Helen Chamber of Commerce Wishing Well Park, going south to the township hall. 34th Circuit Court Judge Michael Baumgartner heard these cases in 34th Circuit Court, Roscommon, Nov. 18: Billy Johnson, 32, Houghton Lake, pleaded guilty to maintaining a drug house and possession of marijuana. A charge of delivery/manufacture of marijuana was dismissed. Johnson is to be sentenced Dec. 16. More...
