Joanne May Dirette Roscommon resident Joanne May Dirette, 70, died Dec. 18, 2008, at her home.
A service is planned for Monday, Dec. 22, at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Prudenville, with Father Tony Cureton officiating. Visitation will be at Christler Funeral Home, Prudenville Chapel, Sunday from 1 to 7 p.m., with an evening Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Huntington Disease Society of America or Association to Rescue Kritters. On-line condolences may be shared at www.christler-holdship.com. Mrs. Dirette was born Sept. 1, 1938, in Detroit, the daughter of the late Stanley and Dora (Evans) Hunt. She worked as a veterinary assistant and as an administrative manager in the Detroit area. She and Albert C. Dirette were united in marriage Dec. 14, 1957, in Detroit. Her husband survives. She and her husband moved from Farmington Hills to the Higgins Lake area in 1992.
Preceding her death were two daughters, Sheryl Lynn and Vicki Lee; and sister, Janet DeVlieg.
Surviving besides her husband of 52 years, Albert Dirette of Roscommon are daughter, Holly and her husband Bill Oliver of Prudenville; grandson, Billy Oliver of Prudenville; brother, Ken and his wife Cindy Hunt of Novi; two nephews, Darrin Hunt and Brian Hunt; and one niece, Cindy Sturgill.
