Niekamps to celebrate golden anniversary

Dr. Harold and Rita Niekamp of Houghton Lake will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 23.

Married in Chicago in 1958, the Niekamps have three children, Paul of Gull Lake, Teresa of Houghton Lake, and Peter and his wife, Kristina, and grandson, Thomas, of Comstock Park.

Originally from Jackson, the Niekamps have owned a cottage on the West Shore since 1970, and moved to Houghton Lake after retiring in 1995. They will celebrate with their family at Reds on the River in Grand Rapids.
