Dorothy Lois Smith

Dorothy Lois Smith, 77, Crown Point, IN, died Aug. 21, 2008.

A service is planned for Saturday, Aug. 30, at 2 p.m. at Lake of the Four Seasons United Methodist Church. Memorial donations may be made to United Methodist Women or National Arbor Association.

Mrs. Smith was born Nov. 26, 1930, in Pittsfield, MA. Her parents were Craig W. Parkhurst and Ruby M. McVay. She had lived in Pontiac, IL, Evansville, IN, Darien, IL, Houghton Lake, and Crown Point, IN.

She and Norris Lachlan Smith were united in marriage April 14, 1951, in Evansville, IN. Her husband preceded her in death June 20, 2006.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Hudson Essex Terraplane Club.

Surviving Mrs. Smith are four children, Lachlan DeSmith of St. Louis, MO, Karen Liwoch of Round Lake Heights, IL, Iris Varlan of Crown Point, IN (Lake of the Four Seasons), and Jesse Smith of Hinsdale, IL; brother, Judson Parkhurst of Dayton, OH; and four grandchildren.
