Richard B. 'Rick' Green
Mr. Green was born July 17, 1947, in Palo Alto, CA, to James Leslie Green and Florence Darmody Green McCullough Weishuhn. He attended grade school in Alma and graduated from high school in Decatur, IL. In 1965, when he was 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served for 12 years. He eventually became a recruiter for the army and received many commendations and awards. Mr. Green was employed by the City of Battle Creek for the past 20 years. He also spent many years as an artist and founded his own business, Deadwood Art. He specialized in stained glass and handcarved wooden signs. Many of his signs can be found all around Southwest Michigan. Mr. Green married Susan Fischer in 1966, and they were later divorced. He then married Becky Kay Watson in 1989.
Surviving Mr. Green are his daughters, Laura and her husband Scott Corstange of Orangeville, Jennifer Green of Galesburg, Aimee Jo Moore of Shelby Township and Diana and her husband Michael Kotis-Harber of Chicago, IL; his sons, Richard James and his wife Natalia Green of Battle Creek and Mark Brandon Watson of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ryan, Jacob, Phillip and Richard; sister, Sharon Lester; and brothers, Nelson "Chip" McCullough, Jeff McCullough and Michael McCullough, all of Houghton Lake, Scott McCullough of Muskegon and Douglas McCullough of Kaliua- Kona, HI.
