District lists photo contest winners

The Crawford-Roscommon Conservation District has announced winners of its 2008 amateur photo contest.

District residents who attended the district's conservation expo last month voted to choose winners of the contest.

Floral: Ann Church, St. Helen, 1st; Deanna Barth, Houghton Lake, 2nd; Troy Fairbanks, Roscommon, 3rd; Sue McNally, Grayling, honorable mention.

Forestry: Deanna Barth, 1st; Jacquelyn Turkovich, Brighton, 2nd; Carol Stouffer, Houghton Lake, and Sheila Brown, Roscommon, (tie) 3rd; Nancy Michelson, Roscommon, honorable mention.

Landscape: Ruth Whitman, Prudenville, 1st; Melissa Kocefas, Grayling, 2nd; Leonard Bingert, Grayling 3rd; Al and Sandy Hoy, Fenton, honorable mention.

Recreation: Troy Fairbanks, 1st; Carol Stouffer, 2nd; Len Olsen, Madison Heights, 3rd; Deanna Barth, honorable mention.

Wildlife: Sue McNally, Outstanding (most votes of any photo entered; Jerry and Mary Rashid, Farmington Hills, 1st; Troy Fairbanks, 2nd; Theresa Sleamon, Prudenville, 3rd; Billy J. Elwell, Prudenville, and Emmy Burnside, Houghton Lake, honorable mention.
