The varsity wrestling team at Houghton Lake High School will get a chance to both compete and socialize with some of the best high school wrestlers in Japan next week when they will participate in the Michigan-Japan Wrestling Cultural Exchange program. "There will be three state events this year," said church group leader Dr. Mike Ritchie "Youth that have been a part of our group last summer and those who were part of the archery in the schools program are welcome to take part. More ... The Skeels Christian School varsity boys basketball squad played Traverse City Preparatory Academy Tuesday night and came away with a 73-44 win. Coach Jeffrey Goddard said his defense was "stellar" and Jacob Roberts had a number of blocks while guards Eric Gerbe, Cameron Tenwalde and Jordan Husted pressed the ball throughout the game.
