"Grandparents University' slated at Michigan State in summer

Grandparents University is a unique intergenerational summer camp scheduled for June 30 through July 2 at Michigan State University.

Participants are able to participate in dorm life, attend classes and sample college living. Grandparents and grandchildren attend the program together. They can customize their experience by selecting classes that fit their family interests and create memories in an educational environment.

Registration fees cover admission to four Grandparents University classes, two nights' lodging in Holmes Hall, seven meals in the Holmes Hall cafeteria, evening programs and buses around campus. Scholarships do not cover travel or other costs incurred by participants beyond registration fees. They are awarded on the basis of need and are not transferable.

The deadline for scholarship applications is March 5. Applications are available online at www.grandparents. msu.edu or from Mary C. Mertz-Smith at MSU. Contact her by phone at 517-355-8339 or e-mail to mertzsmi@msu.edu.
