Community's generosity recognized

The Roscommon County community has left me in awe once again. Recently, the Wertz Warriors rode through your area on their 28th Annual 750-mile endurance ride to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics. While they were there, the Warriors were thrilled to collect donations totaling $9,077.

With the state of the economy, we are humbled and grateful for the outpour of community generosity. Thank you. Without valuable contributions like your community's Special Olympics Michigan would not be able to hold the lifechanging training and competition we do. The support of the Wertz Warriors directly funds the State Winter Games and the Special Olympics program within your community.

The Warriors are always looking for new snowmobile enthusiasts to join. The group is filled with fun-loving, bighearted people who are bound together by their passion for service to Special Olympics and snowmobiling. For more specific information, please call Sue Di- Giorgio at (586)954-9770.

Again, we can't thank you enough. Special Olympics is a privately funded, non-profit organization that relies on donations. The Warriors and others who donate make it possible for our more than 16,000 athletes to complete in the more than 400 competitions annually across Michigan.
