Farwell blasts softball Bucks
Roscommon High School's varsity softball team lost both ends of their season-opening doubleheader at Farwell April 23.
In the opener, the Eagles trounced the Bucks, 10-0. Farwell had five its and six bases on balls.
"Stephanie Mitchell pitched well the first few innings, and defensively we were solid," Bucks Coach Mark Church said. "We had a horrible fifth inning that killed us. We made a lot of mental and physical errors that led to a seven-run inning."
Sydney Harris and Jenna Moreau were each 1 for 2 for Roscommon. Harris hit a double and Moreau a single.
In the nightcap, the Bucks managed two runs, but still lost, 12-2.
"We hit the ball better the second game, but once again...allowed a sevenrun third inning," Church said. "Jenna Moreau had a very solid defensive night for us in right field."
Nicole McGeorge, with a triple, and Shelby Alexander and Mitchell, each with a single, were each 1 for 2 for the Bucks.
