Floyd C.L. Ancel Floyd C.L. Ancel, 81, Houghton Lake, died June 24, 2009, at Select Specialty Hospital, Saginaw. A service was held June 29 at 11 a.m. at the Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel, with Pastor Stephen Milam officiating. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice. Condolences may be shared at www.christler-holdship.com. Mr. Ancel was born Jan. 15, 1928, in Flint to the late William Henry and Manila Mae (Spink) Ancel. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He and Dora Jean Patnode were united in marriage Aug. 30, 1950, at Houghton Lake. His wife survives. He worked as a skilled tradesman for Buick for 36 years. He and his wife moved to the Houghton Lake area 10 years ago. Preceding him in death were his parents; one daughter, Lori; three sons, Gary, Jerry and Robbie; four sisters; and seven brothers. Surviving Mr. Ancel besides Dora Jean, his wife of 58 years, are his daughter, Janis and her husband Thomas Macko of Clio; two grandsons, Lanny and his wife Gena Macko of Clio and Troy Macko of Florida; one granddaughter, Crystal Macko of Bancroft; three great-grandsons, Cody, Cameron and Caden; three brothers, Eldon and his wife Bev Ancel of Merritt, Bob and his wife Penny Ancel of DeWitt and Bill and his wife Kay Ancel of Houghton Lake; and several nieces and nephews. |
