On-line tool helps people avoid doughnut hole'
      By the end of this summer, more than a million older Americans will have fallen into the "doughnut hole"— a coverage gap in Medicare's prescription drug program that leaves individuals on the hook for all of their own drug costs while still paying premiums. AARP is launching an online resource to help older Americans avoid this dreaded coverage gap.

Blood drive slated Monday at St. John
      An American Red Cross Blood Drive will be held Aug. 3 at St. John Lutheran Church from noon to 6 p.m. The need for blood is constant, according to organizers, and a minimum goal of 61 donors has been set for the drive.
