Both the Bobcats of Houghton Lake and Bucks of Roscommon dropped their opening games Friday night.

Host Reese bested the Bobcats after taking a 12-0 lead into the half and turning it into a 12-6 victory. The Rockets kept the Bobcats out of the end zone with under a minute to play to hold on to the non-conference victory.

In Grayling, the Bucks were four points shy of Grayling as the Vikings took a 16-12 win.
