     Members of the Zonta Club of the Roscommon County area recently traveled to Lansing to attend the annual fall conference. The club belongs to District 15, which includes Michigan and part of Canada.

Scrapbooking Saturday at Skeels
      The Skeels Christian School Class of 2010 will host a scrapbooking event Nov. 21 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Route 28 Room at Brown Corners Church, 5540 South Clare Ave., Clare. The cost is $35 per person, which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. Featured will be Cricut Cutters and lots of cartridges. There will be door prizes and give-aways.

Turkey Trot’ Nov. 26 to benefit Roscommon Ambassadors of Music
      Roscommon members of the Michigan Ambassadors of Music will host a Turkey Trot 5K Walk/Run Nov. 26 to raise funds for their 2010 trip to Europe. The event will take place at the Lyon Township Park, beginning at 9 a.m. The cost is $10 per person or $25 per family. Awards will be presented to the fastest man, woman, boy and girl (16 or younger).

      The St. Helen Senior/Community center is planning a trip to Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth, the largest Christmas store in the world. The trip is scheduled for Dec. 5.       The seventh annual Russ Graham Memorial Thanksgiving Day Dinner will be held Nov. 26 at the Houghton Higgins Lake Elks Club. People are welcome to dine at the club (noon to 3 p.m.) or have meals delivered (11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.). Last year over 500 meals were served.
