John W. 'Bill' McQueen

John W. “Bill” McQueen, 83, Higgins Lake, died Nov. 19, 2009, at Grayling Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.
The Rev. Dr. James N. Kent will officiate a service Tuesday, Nov. 24, at 2 p.m. at Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Higgins Lake. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
Mr. McQueen was born Dec. 4, 1925, in Snover, the son of John and Bessie (Eimgh) McQueen. He had lived at Higgins lake since 1990. Before that he lived in Royal Oak from 1956 to 1990, having moved from Cass City.
He and Marion O. Walker were united in marriage May 13, 1950, in Ubly. His wife preceded him in death July 9, 2009. He worked as a career truck driver.
Mr. McQueen was a life member of Myrtle Lodge #89 F. & A.M. of Belleville. He had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Also predeceased were his parents, and sister, Jane Bullis.
Surviving are three children, Patrick and his wife Lois McQueen of Stanton, Donna and her husband Bobby Adams of Sterling Heights, and Linda and her husband Gary Geister of Cadillac; six grandchildren, Kelly and her husband Charles Huffman III, Christine and her husband Kenneth Huntington, Karen Serek, Benjamin and his wife Alana Serek, and Kenneth and Kathryn Adams; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald and his wife Edith McQueen of Bad Axe; and sister, Catherine King of Cass City.
