Branch Regional Medical Center, but Girl injured scuffling with mom

A 14-year-old St. Helen girl is staying with relatives downstate after an incident in which she suffered multiple injuries at her home Nov. 16.

Richfield Township Police said the girl’s mother called Roscommon County Central Dispatch to report her daughter had left the house after the mother and daughter had scuffled. The girl later reported her mother had beaten her up.

Investigators said the girl suffered injuries to her jaw, lips, eye and shoulder blade. The mother, who reportedly was intoxicated, was arrested for domestic violence.
