Victor C. Kohn
Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel, handled arrangements. A memorial service will be held Feb. 6 at Higgins Lake Baptist Church, 7461 West Higgins Lake Dr., Higgins Lake, with Pastor Kevin Pierpont officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Lake Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake. Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, the Gideons or Higgins Lake Baptist Church to further the Gospel of Christ. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.christler-holdship.com. Mr. Kohn was born May 25, 1922, in Kalkaska. He grew up at Houghton Lake, and graduated from the Houghton Lake stone high school. He was a member of the Michigan Civilian Conservation Corps camp in the Roscommon area. He served as tech sergeant in the U.S. Army in World War II and saw action in Africa and Sicily.
Besides his wife, Joyce, those preceding him in death were his parents, Clarence and Cassie (Conklin) Kohn; brothers, Kenneth and J.C.; and sisters, Shirley, Jean Curtis and Wilma Williams. Surviving are his daughters, Victoria and her husband Thomas Jackson of Warrior, AL, and Joycelan Kohn of Houghton Lake; sons, Roger and his wife Valerie Kohn of Houghton Lake and Stephen and his wife Patricia Kohn of Glendale, AZ; grandchildren, Timothy Scott Smith, Jennifer and her husband Greg Ray, Jared and his wife Rebecca Kohn, Justin and his wife Bethany Kohn, Anjila and her husband Gerald Owen and Tina and her husband Tony Rodriguez; and great-grandchildren, James Logan Tyler Smith, Britney Smith, Stephen Gerald John Owen IV, Lennon Owen, Tony, Scott, Ernesto and Zachary Rodriguez. |
