Roseville man dies in Feb. 6 snowmobile accident

A 37-year-old Roseville man died of injuries he sustained when the snowmobile he was driving westbound on Dayton Street in Lyon Township failed to stop at the junction of Hillcrest Road, left the roadway and struck some trees.

Chad Piscitello and his son James were on a snowmobile ride when they became separated at 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 5, and James returned home. After making numerous attempts to contact Chad by cell phone, his wife Jackie reported him missing at 1:24 a.m. on Feb. 6.

State Police located Piscitello at 2:22 a.m. on Feb. 6, conscious and talking, but severely injured. He was transported to Mercy Hospital in Grayling, where he died of his injuries. The Lyon Township Fire Department and EMS and Houghton Lake Ambulance responded to the accident.

A State Police press release on the incident said “it appears speed may have been a contributing factor in the accident.” The case is still under investigation.
