Gayle E. Beardslee

Gayle E. Beardslee, 65, Roscommon, died March 10, 2010, at Munson Medical Center, Traverse City.
The Rev. Tom Teall officiated a service March 13 at Calvary Baptist Church, West Branch. Burial was in Pioneer Cemetery, Roscommon. Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon, handled arrangements. 
Mrs. Beardslee was born May 29, 1944, in Flint, the daughter of Albert J.  and Mary Eva (Vass) Koan Jr. Before moving to Roscommon in 1988, she lived in Flushing. She and Terry L. Beardslee were married Aug. 10, 1963, in New Lothrop.
She received her registered nurse training at McLaren Hospital in Flint. She was a nurse for the City of Flint Health Department for two years and for Dr. Owens of Flushing for one year. For three years she was a teacher at New Lothrop Christian School and at Gilead Baptist School in Owosso for another three years. In 1998 she began working as a secretary and co-owner of Terry Beardslee and Sons Plumbing and Heating in Roscommon.
Mrs. Beardslee enjoyed gardening and reading cookbooks.
Preceding her in death was her mother, Mary Koan.
Surviving are her husband, Terry Beardslee of Roscommon; three sons, Scott Beardslee of Pere Cheney, Steve and his wife Deanna Beardslee of Roscommon, and Chris and his wife Kristi Beardslee of Roscommon; five grandchildren, Dillon, Skottie, Courtney, Caleb and Ethan; father, Albert Koan Jr. of Flushing; brother, Jim and his wife Karen Koan of Flushing; and sister, Brenda Joslin of Flushing.
