Thieves emptied a cash box at a Lake Township resort May 21.

The owner told Roscommon County Sheriff’s deputies $700 in cash and a check for $179.90 were taken from the box.

In other theft reports, a knife collection and a DVD player were among items reported stolen from a Bay City resident’s vacation home in Roscommon Township May 23. Also missing were kitchen knives, food, blankets, a cooler, a lantern and fishing equipment.

A gas grill valued at $20 was reported stolen from the back porch of a Metamora resident’s vacation home in Roscommon Township May 22.

Deputies recovered three tires which had been reported stolen by their owner, a Backus Township resident, May 22.

A set of aluminum dock legs, valued at $50, were reported stolen from underneath a Grand Ledge resident’s dock in Higgins Lake in Lyon Township May 23.
