Donald McClellan, 68, St. Helen, died Aug. 2, 2010, at Faith Hospice, Grand Rapids, after a brave battle with cancer. Born Dec. 25, 1941, in Edgerton, OH he spent his childhood in Virginia. He served his country in the Air Force for four years, during which time he was stationed at Wurtsmith Air Force base in Oscoda. He spent most of his working years as a mechanic for Consumers Energy Company. He lost his wife of 20 years, Eva Joy, to cancer.
A memorial service will be held at Community Baptist Church, St. Helen, Saturday, Aug. 7 at 11 a.m. (not Aug. 10th as written in the Resorter).
Surviving are his children and stepchildren, Scott (Karry) McClellan of Tawas City, Kelly (Ted) Peterson of Gaylord, Paul Kietzman of Saginaw, Gregg (Marcie) McClellan of Tawas City, Nila Kietzman of Gaylord and Amanda (Gary) Harris of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Matthew, Michaela, Courtney, Zachary, Aaron, Melissa, Noel, Selena, Kathryn, Rachel, Kaitlyn, Brady and Brooke; mother-in-law, Edith Brainerd of St. Helen; a sister, Pat Warren of Virginia; and a brother, Jim McClellan of Lapeer.
