Lions ready for Halloween at Bobcat Stadium

Between 1,500 and 2,000 children are expected at the Houghton Lake Lions’ 41st Annual Halloween Party Oct. 31 at Bobcat Stadium.

Gates will be open from 6:30 to 8 p.m. There is no entry fee.

Assisting with the many activities will be members of the Houghton Lake Kiwanis Club, community members and student volunteers.

On the field will be children’s games, the haunted tunnel and a “moon walk.” Dynamite the Clown will greet children and the Houghton Lake Marching Band will lead the costume parade around the track. Fire trucks and door prizes will also be part of the fun.

Prizes in the form of gift certificates will be awarded for the best costumes to five boys, five girls, one family and one adult. Visitors may also enter a drawing in which one girl’s bike and one boy’s bike will be awarded.

The Lions will announce the winners of the Halloween coloring contest that has been taking place at Collins Elementary and Our Lady of the Lake School.

As children leave the field, they will receive a bag of candy.
